I even got to set up and work at the famous brickyard starting line! As I worked, I envisioned a crowd of cheering spectators from each of the generations that have embraced the track as an American icon. I even envisioned including famous cars from the golden age of racing in my painting. The finished work required countless studio hours, and an immense amount of final detailing. As the third piece in my Disney Dreams Collection, Tinker Bell and Peter Pan Fly to Neverland promises to be my most exciting work yet! The Peter Pan story presents the wondrous fantasies of youth: secret island hideaways, visions of mermaids and pirates, and the irresistible urge to fly high above the world. I am powerfully aware of the tug of youthful dreams one might even say that as an artist I strive to stay constantly connected with the wide-eyed wonder of childhood.

As with the first two paintings in my twelve piece Disney Dreams Collection (affectionately referred to as the Disney dozen by diehard collectors!), I try to tell the whole story in a single image what I refer to as a narrative panorama. We see Neverland in the distance, just below the second star to the right, an enchanting land rising above the clouds. As the full moon bathes the scene with its silvery light, the clouds take shape, if only in our imagination, as characters from the adventure Captain Hook, Smee, the Lost Boys and the ubiquitous ticking crocodile. Below us we see London, its lights twinkling with a radiant glow, as the eternal waters of the Thames flow off to distant horizons.

For me, the central character of the story will always remain Tinker Bell, the enchanted fairy princess who makes the entire journey of imagination possible. As the bells of Big Ben begin to toll in the evening air, wont you grab a handful of Tinker Bells pixie dust, and join me on the adventure of a lifetime? As Peter Pan put it, Come on everybody, here we go

In 2008, Yankee Stadium, the greatest cathedral to the game of baseball, has closed its doors forever. I could not let such a historic moment pass without honoring it in my way. This is the original Yankee Stadium - the house that Ruth built.

Boston's Fenway Park is an example of history in the making - it is one of the ultimate shrines of baseball. Fenway Park, the oldest Major League ballpark, opened in 1912. The towering Green Monster looms over a short left field.

"As I painted my tribute to this amazing race, I was moved by the imprint of time on this event. I wondered at the thrill of viewing the race at track level where each of these amazing warriors would engage in the challenge of winning this epic race. I paid tribute to a century of competitors with yesteryears car racing against today’s elegant machines. Along the track, the smoke and dust reminiscent of 100 years of racing billows as cars round the oval towards the renowned-checkered flag. Adjacent to the track, fans spanning generations and attired in appropriate garb, gather collectively willing their champions to victory all the while feeling the sonic impact of each lap and wincing at the roar of passing cars. In the horizon, sunlight gently adorns the clouds as sun approvingly sets on this year’s coronation of Indy’s latest champion…what a legacy is this greatest of races. Kudos, Indy for 100 years of thrills slowly and annually acquiescing to the storied checkered flag!"

Beauty and the Beast Gallery Wrapped Canvas

"Of all the Disney love stories, Beauty and the Beast is perhaps the most poignant. Beasts true identity is a charming prince who is discovering love in the form of the beautiful Belle. In my painting, I memorialize that magic moment when they first begin to discover their love for each other. Many of the characters from the movie are present, including Belles father, Maurice - an eccentric inventor who soars overhead in his homemade flying machine. In the distance, we see the village that is a central setting for many of the films most important moments. At lower left, we see the evil Gaston leading his parade of angry townspeople in search of the Beast. As in the movie, the wonderful characters of Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, and of course, Lumiere, feature prominently in the foreground.

As with every piece in my Disney Dreams Collection, I attempted to portray a panorama of the entire movie, rather than an individual scene. My desire is that the viewers eye would wander around the painting making discoveries in every corner of the image. A tradition in my Disney Dreams Collection is hiding characters from earlier paintings in the current piece and Beauty and the Beast Falling in Love is no exception. See if you can find Snow White, Tinker Bell, the mice from Cinderella, Pinocchio, and if you look carefully youll even see Bambi cautiously creeping around the corner of some foliage in the distance below the Castle. Beauty and the Beast Falling in Love represents, in my mind, my highest accomplishment so far in the Disney Dreams Collection. It is filled with detailall encompassing over 600 hours of studio time.

The crowning achievement and the central discovery in the image is the sweeping sense of romance that is at the core of the Beauty and the Beast fairy tale. Here truly is unconditional love in its purest form. I hope you sense that love every time you look upon Beauty and the Beast Falling in Love."

Bambi's First Year Gallery Wrapped Canvas

When I set myself the goal of creating the twelve epic paintings for the Disney Dreams Collection, I knew it would be a vast undertaking. After all, each painting in the series presents not just a scene from a classic Disney feature, but a vision of the entire movie in one image what I like to call a narrative panorama. In my Bambi painting, I wanted to present a broad look at the events of Bambis young life, along with the suggestion of his destiny as the newly crowned prince of the forest.

To suggest the moment of Bambis empowerment, I positioned him on a rocky precipice overlooking the terrain of his kingdom and the four seasons of his first year. Below him is an image of his own self at a younger age, representing the spring of his life. Surrounding the young Bambi we see the animals of the unspoiled forest Thumper the rabbit, Flower the skunk, Mole, Otter, and at the left, Bambis first love Faline and her protective mother. These gentle animals are reminders that even a prince depends on the loving care of friends and family. If you look closely, Bambis self-sacrificing mother can be seen, as though emerging through the mists of memory, as a half hidden image upon the distant mountain. Truly, a mothers love, like the spirit of the mighty mountains, will guide a son forever.

The lightning and rains at the left of the composition create a visual transition to the second season of Bambis life: summer. Further back, below the majestic mountain in the distance, we see a suggestion of Bambis winter world, a whimsical season in the movie featuring the playful antics of Bambi and friends in a frozen wonderland.

Bambis autumn is the season of his maturity. At the right of my composition we see the fall colors ablaze above the young adult Bambi, as the wisest and mightiest creature of the forest, the old stag, looks on approvingly through a rising mist in the afternoon light.

The central theme of Bambi is the cycle of the seasons and the ongoing flow of life. Waterfalls and rivulets abound in the Bambi movie, suggesting the unstoppable life force, and in my painting we see these cascades just beyond a misty rainbow. Truly, water flows through the world like life itself a timeless reminder that despite the passing seasons, nature thrives and a new generation is born.

I believe Bambis First Year is the most breathtaking subject in my Disney Dreams Collection to date. I attempted to capture the sublime beauty of the forest, combined with the wonderful charm of the forest animals and their playful everyday activities. I hope as you look at Bambi cresting the ridge of his domain, you too will feel empowered to live your best life and to count on a season of new beginnings, even when the challenges of life confront you. Truly for Bambi, and for us, life goes on.

Princess and the Frog Gallery Wrapped Canvas

"Walt Disney said it all began with a mouse, and in the newest Disney movie classic you might say it all begins with a frog. "The Princess and the Frog" has been brought to life with hand-drawn animation techniques, making it the first Disney traditional animation classic in years as well as the first ever to be set in the enchanted city of New Orleans. In my painting I wanted to suggest the look of traditional animation yet maintain the sense of painterly mood that my work is known for. I lavished detail into the bayou flowers glowing with hidden fireflies, as well as the curving live oak draped with lacey Spanish moss.

The characters of the movie swirl about the composition, inviting us to ponder the part each plays in the story. We see the large mansion of Big Daddy, resplendent with an evenings party on the bayou. The old riverboat churns its way into the bay as a flight of fireflies flickers overhead, and Ray, the senior statesman of the fireflies, ponders the vista. In an example of the blended time frame for which my Disney paintings are known, we see Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen being observed by the frogs who are Tiana and Naveen in a different form. In the billowing smoke of the riverboat we see a hint of Facilier, the evil voodoo master, while below Mama Odie stands guard in her swampy home. Lewis, the trumpet playing alligator, reminds us that New Orleans is at heart a musical city, and the riverboat guests behind him wave greeting to one and all. If you look carefully, you can spot other characters from the movie hidden around the composition, as well as a few unexpected Disney visitors from earlier classics.

As with all my Disney paintings, "The Princess and the Frog" presents a narrative panorama a combination of elements from the movie that attempts to present the entire story in one image. This is the first painting in my Disney Discoveries Collection each one a tribute to a newly released movie destined to become a classic of animation.

"Two of the dream-memories we take from childhood on our lifes journey, if we are fortunate, are the wonder and excitement of Disney World and the soaring majesty of castles.

Perhaps that is why the Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World, Orlando, is such an enchanting inspiration to young and old. My family makes a pilgrimage to this favorite spot on every visit. This year, I went in my imagination to explore a vision of the regal castle gently kissed by the golden light of a perfect day.

A New Day at the Cinderella Castle discovers a morning every bit as festive and delightful as the castle itself. A double rainbow arcs over the towering castle; fluffy clouds dapple its many towers with light and shade. Lavish, rainbow-hued trees and shrubs frame the building; quaint gas lamps dance along the walkway.

I used a more whimsical style in keeping with the subject: Is Bambi on the lawn? Tinkerbell above the castle spires? The Ugly Duckling in the pond? You decide."

"Cinderella Wishes Upon A Dream, fourth piece in my popular Disney Dreams Collection, has given me the chance to push the limits of my ability farther than I ever have. Hundreds of hours of detailing were required to capture a setting magical enough for a princess and her charming prince. On the towering mountain in the distance we see Cinderellas castle, a vision inspired by the movie. Coming down from the castle road we see Cinderellas horseman and coach, galloping towards the sleeping village below.

As Cinderella and her prince cross the stone bridge over the lovers reflecting pool, we pause to enjoy the numerous details that make this scene so inviting. Cinderellas many friends are here. The whimsical mice with their charming antics can be found dotted around the scene (see how many you can count!). Cinderellas other tiny helpers; the colorful birds of the kingdom have built a nest in the tree house hidden in the foliage. Flowers glow in abundance, while overhead the stars twinkle radiantly. The entire scene seems aglow with the magical blessing of the Fairy Godmother, who rides atop a splendid rainbow at the top of the painting. The stone statue in the garden at the lower right suggests Cinderellas years of drudgery, yet the sparkling gown she wears reminds us that dreams really do come true. Lucifer the cat is busy tormenting the playful mice, while the stepmother and stepsisters look upon the sweethearts with amazement and perhaps a hint of joy. The king and his duke, fashioned as weathered chimney pots in my painting, gaze with delight at the goings on. Ive put tributes to my earlier Disney collection Snow White, Pinocchio, and even Peter Pan and Tinker Bell can be found by a patient viewer. This is proof positive that for Cinderellas deepest wishes to come true, shell need a little help from her friends!"

Pinocchio Wishes Upon a Star Gallery Wrapped Canvas

My Disney Dreams Collection celebrates great moments from Walt Disney films. I call these paintings narrative panoramas because each painting tells the entire story of the film in one image.

For my painting Pinocchio Wishes Upon a Star we see Pinocchio upon a hillside overlooking the setting of his adventures. In the foreground we see Honest John, the symbol of temptation, and in the mid-distance we see Geppettos workshop where Pinocchio was formed. We see Strombolis puppet stage with the maestro himself holding court, and the seaport village in the distant where Pinocchio first learned of Pleasure Island. To the right we see Pleasure Island, aglow with the festivities of another days merriment and Monstro the whale preparing to engulf Geppettos sailing vessel. Butterflies and sparkles lend magical accents as the Blue Fairy and Jiminy Cricket look on.

My prayer is that my Disney Dreams will make dreams come true for all who see these enchanted paintings.

Snow White Discovers the Cottage Gallery Wrapped Canvas

"Years ago, a fifty cent purchase changed my life. As a seven year old boy I purchased a matinee ticket and stared in wide-eyed wonder at the magical world of Walt Disneys classic film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I was especially charmed with the whimsical woodland cottage that housed the seven dwarfs it was as though my fascination with cottages suddenly was awakened! It wasnt until I traveled to England and the rest of Europe in my early twenties that I discovered that such dwellings actually exist in the real world. For me, the charms of the old world are akin to the fairy tale magic I first discovered in the early Disney features.

With this in mind, you can imagine my delight when Disney recently opened their archives to me as I prepared for my first-ever series of images inspired by classic Disney moments.

In my current work, Snow Whites world is alive with color. The Princes castle where Snow White will eventually discover happiness looms majestically in the distance, while a foaming waterfall and fanciful animals remind us that Snow White is at peace with all of nature. I studied the work of early American illustrators to recreate the fairy tale look of the tree trunks, forest stones and woodland pathways. Of course, I also included my iconic colorful flowers which festoon the scene with hopeful reminders of spring.

I hope that Snow White Discovers the Cottage will be a fairy tale come true for Disney and Kinkade collectors everywhere.

Tin Man and the Munchkins Gallery Wrapped Canvas

"Like most children of my era I was intrigued by The Wizard of Oz during its annual presentation on our TV screen. This adventure provided the ultimate daydream for a young artist whose imagination yearned to follow the Yellow Brick Road.

To recreate my passion for Oz in visual form, I utilized my imagination to journey beyond what had been created for the original movie. As is the case with my Disney paintings, each Oz painting will be an attempt to capture the essence of the entire movie in a single emotionally charged image.

In the first Oz painting we see Dorothy and friends as they view the fabled Emerald City for the first time. The familiar cast of characters is here Dorothy, Cowardly Lion, Tin Man, Scarecrow -- as well as the Wicked Witch of the West, scary Winged Monkeys, and of course the Munchkins.

We can even see Glinda the Good Witch floating in her transparent sphere of light, as though to bless the journey of the travelers. I envision this painting as the first piece in what I will refer to as the Oz Octet, a collection of eight epic paintings intended to celebrate great moments from this classic film. The eight paintings in this collection will present a monumental challenge to my abilities as a story teller and picture maker. Yet like my Disney collection, I expect this collection to flourish as collectors discover that each painting builds upon the next. Dorothy Discovers the Emerald City is a panorama of the great places from the film. Though while watching the movie none of us can be entirely sure where the Wicked Witchs Castle is located in relation to the Emerald City, I have placed it distinctly in the foreground suggesting a barren land that must be traversed to encounter the delights beyond. Like The Wizard of OzTM film, my painting presents the raw emotions of myth and daydream as they collide with wondrous imagination.

"Despite its bustling nature and hectic pace, I've always viewed New York as a very romantic city. Just one block over from the hustle and bustle, couples take romantic carriage rides through the park while the town buildings envelop the scene like looming mountain walls. I portrayed the famous Central Park Bridge near the Plaza Hotel as a setting of great romance. We see a couple crossing the bridge arm in arm, perhaps basking in the stillness of an autumn evening. Lamplight bathes the scene with a subtle glow as the luminous colors of autumn emerge from the mist like glowing embers in a fireplace. The creek winds its way under the bridge not yet slowed by the coming winter air while the Plaza Hotel and the towering 5th Avenue skyscrapers stand as sentinels watching over the park.

Autumn is a beautiful time of year in the city, and I love visiting the park during this season. The oranges and reds created by nature are so vibrant and beautiful. These colors, imposed over the canvas like a backdrop of the city, create a breathtaking setting... one that is further enhanced with the sweet aroma of warm honey-roasted nuts wafting through the evening chill. Central Park is truly a magical place where nature and the character of New York combine in serene harmony. It's a place where a quick cab ride lets you escape the big city and immerse yourself in nature's brilliant color palette. True to New York form, there is no place quite like Central Park in the fall.

My goal is to add to my New York tributes with this inaugural commemoration of New York's changing seasons... this is New York at its best; truly a city of romance and excitement."

As I painted my homage to this amazing story, I could not help but be moved by the intricate interplay between all of the magnificent creatures under Simba's domain.
