Thomas Kinkade's expanding relationship with Disney has been nothing short of fabulous. When Thom was asked to paint the Sleeping Beauty's Castle at Disneyland for their 50th anniversary, a new era in Thomas Kinkade fine art was established. After the success of "Disneyland 50th Anniversary" the idea to paint Cinderella's Castle for the 35th Anniversary of Disneyworld emerged. "A New Day at Cinderella Castle" solidified Thom's place in Disney history and from there the relationship grew and Thom has been given full access to the archives at Disney.
With this new access Thom was inspired to paint many of the classic movies that we all grew up with. His panoramic interpretation of each movie incorporates every aspect of the films to bring out the true magic of Disney.
The Disney Dreams Collection includes classics such as "Snow White Discovers the Cottage," "Pinocchio Wishes Upon a Star," "Tinker Bell and Peter Pan Fly to Neverland," "Cinderella Wishes Upon a Dream," "Bambi's First Year," "Beauty and the Beast Falling in Love," and The Lion King." There are twelve images slated for the Disney Dreams Collection which will likely be completed in the next 2.5 years.
In the Disney Discoveries Collection Thom is painting the newest Disney masterpieces such as the "Princess and the Frog" with Tiana who has become an official Disney princess after the success of this movie. "Tangled" may be right around the corner, so stay tuned.
